Share your thoughts about how the newsroom of the future should be different . (And if you do, please post a copy of your answer in the forums).
The obvious answer is the newsroom needs to be multimedia. The walls would be covered with monitors that constantly scan important broadcast and online sources of information. All of the computers in the room can connect to any online or broadcast source. And all workstations can connect to any digital device (phone, recorder, camera, etc.) and be able to download and process the information.
The newsroom of the future must foster collaboration among all staff members. It doesn't have to sacrifice privacy of the individual and be a totally open space, but does need to be a space where working together is encouraged and effortless.
