The newsroom, at least at the local level, is not a room at all. It is the community. And the forums are the community organizations, businesses, city centers, sports venues, schools, restaurants, malls, parks, and anyplace where lifestyle, politics, business, recreation cohabitate. The successful journalist, reporter, and networker will be the conduit for news and people and events of interest to the personality and culture of the individual, unique town.
