I am a web/multimedia journalist. Currently, I'm interning at Stream57, a webcasting and online communications company. So far, I've been creating branded websites and Flash components for our clients. It's a great way to bulk up my skills in HTML, CSS, Photoshop and Flash.
I graduated from the College of Journalism at the University of Florida in May 2008. My studies in journalism focused on combining traditional and computer-assisted information-gathering with multimedia production to create news packages online. While in school, I spent about two years working at The Independent Florida Alligator, including two semesters as online managing editor. My team was instrumental in getting the Alligator's first content management system up and running, as well as getting a traditional print newsroom to think about the web.
After graduation, I spent some time at The Miami Herald as a multimedia intern. I worked on microsites for columns and investigative stories and built some Flash graphics. My biggest project was collaborating on the development of an XML-loaded Flash video player.
