I study newspaper digital media, social networking, alternative platforms and more for the newspaper industry. Prior to this job, I was an editor for the Virgin Islands Source; I also worked for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's MKE and for the Lawrence Journal-World.

The newsroom of the future should focus on gathering information and storytelling in platform-flexible (or agnostic) ways. However, we still need specialists -- people who are especially good at writing or photography or graphics, but I hope the people we need will expand to include videographers, database experts, computer programmers and the community.
